More Than an Internship: How Accompany Suite Helped Me Step Into My Purpose

How Accompany Suite Helped Me Step Into My Purpose

My Internship Journey at Accompany Suite

Wow… three months at Accompany Suite! I guess it’s true what they say – time flies when

you’re having fun. Going from a classroom to a professional setting wasn’t an easy

adjustment at first, but each moment has been rewarding and eye-opening.

When I was first presented with this opportunity in August, I was SO nervous. I had never

had an internship before. But I knew I was ready for the next step in my career, and I had

been praying to God to open the right doors and lead me to the purpose for my life. Clearly,

He did - because here I am today!

Finding My Voice In Digital Marketing

When I first started, the team expressed concerns that their social platforms were not truly reflective of them and left potential customers more confused than informed. So, I

prioritized humanizing the platforms - showcasing the behind-the-scenes moments and faces behind AS. Now, the page goes deeper than stock photos and quotes; you get a true

glimpse into the heart of Accompany Suite.

I was tasked with creating three posts a week, an anniversary video, and a promotional

video. At the start, the thought of these really overwhelmed me - I felt pressure because I

wanted to do well. With no prior experience making content for brands, I had no choice but

to learn quickly – and I did! Through trial and error, I found my style and what works for the

brand.

Growing through the challenges

I’ll be honest, it wasn’t easy. While juggling school, my two other jobs, and writing for my

school paper, I had to prioritize time management to meet workplace expectations. I

learned that when you have dreams, prayer is powerful, but you must also put in the hard

work to use the gift God has given you.

Over the course of this internship, I’ve grown in so many ways. From something as simple

as scheduling a Google Meet call to capturing content at one of our workshops, every day

brought something new. I believe that knowledge is power, and there are just some lessons

that simply cannot be learned in a classroom – you have to live them.

Here’s what I’ve learned:

• Knowledge is power.

• Ask for guidance.

• If you never step out of your comfort zone, you will never grow.

I could not be prouder of how far I’ve come in three months. I’ve pushed myself, learned to

be confident in my ideas, and embraced new experiences. I would like to express my gratitude to the team that took a chance on me. Their support –

Both personally and professionally contributed to my success in this role. Not many people can say that when their bosses see they are having a hard day, they stop the meeting to pray with them. I feel blessed to work alongside a team of such genuine, creative, and God-driven people.

Thank you to Kristine, Bekah, and Kris for taking a chance on me back in August, and thank

you to God for blessing me with this opportunity.

Best,

Maddie, The Digital Marketing Intern
